Which countries can receive payouts on WAVjunkie?
WAVjunkie processes all artist payouts through Stripe Connect. Payout availability depends on which countries Stripe Connect currently supports. You can check the current list of supported countries at stripe.com/global.Why is my country not supported?
There are two main reasons a country may not be supported: International sanctions — Stripe is required by law to comply with sanctions enforced by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and equivalent international bodies. Countries subject to comprehensive sanctions — including Cuba, Syria, Iran, North Korea, and Russia — cannot be supported for payment processing. This is a legal requirement that applies to all platforms using Stripe, not a decision made by WAVjunkie. Stripe Connect availability — Stripe Connect (the payout infrastructure WAVjunkie uses) is not yet available in all countries. This is separate from sanctions and reflects where Stripe has established the necessary banking relationships. Stripe continues to expand coverage over time.Can I still listen and purchase music if my country is not supported?
Yes. Country restrictions apply only to artists receiving payouts. Listeners in any country can browse, discover, and purchase music on WAVjunkie, subject to the availability of supported payment methods in their region.I am an artist in an unsupported country. What are my options?
At launch, WAVjunkie requires Stripe Connect for artist payouts and we are not able to offer an alternative payout method at this time. We are aware that this means some independent artists cannot access the platform as sellers, and we do not take that lightly. Expanding access to artists in currently unsupported countries is something we are committed to exploring as the platform grows. Alternative payout methods will be introduced on a demand-driven basis as we identify the right solutions for specific regions. If Stripe Connect adds support for your country after your WAVjunkie account is created, you’ll be able to complete Stripe Connect onboarding and begin receiving payouts at that point.
