Which countries can receive payouts on WAVjunkie?
WAVjunkie processes payouts through Stripe Connect. Artists in our direct payout corridor receive automatic bank transfers; artists outside that corridor are still paid in full, but their balance is settled manually by the WAVjunkie team. You can check Stripe’s global coverage at stripe.com/global.Why is my country not supported?
There are two main reasons a country may not be supported: International sanctions — Stripe is required by law to comply with sanctions enforced by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and equivalent international bodies. Countries subject to comprehensive sanctions — including Cuba, Syria, Iran, North Korea, and Russia — cannot be supported for payment processing. This is a legal requirement that applies to all platforms using Stripe, not a decision made by WAVjunkie. Stripe Connect availability — Stripe Connect (the payout infrastructure WAVjunkie uses) is not yet available in all countries. This is separate from sanctions and reflects where Stripe has established the necessary banking relationships. Stripe continues to expand coverage over time.Can I still listen and purchase music if my country is not supported?
Yes. Country restrictions apply only to artists receiving payouts. Listeners in any country can browse, discover, and purchase music on WAVjunkie, subject to the availability of supported payment methods in their region.I am an artist in an unsupported country. What are my options?
If your country is fully blocked by international sanctions, payouts of any kind are not possible. If Stripe operates in your country but is outside our direct payout corridor — for example Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, and others — you can still sell on WAVjunkie. Fans can purchase your music as normal, your earnings are tracked in your dashboard, and the WAVjunkie team settles your balance manually via Wise, PayPal, or wire transfer once you reach the payout threshold. This is only a change in how the money reaches you. It does not affect your ability to upload, sell, or earn. You still complete Stripe Connect onboarding for identity and tax verification. During artist registration, after you select your country, you may see a notice explaining that automatic payouts are not available in your location. This notice is for transparency only:- Your releases and sales work exactly the same as for any other artist.
- Your earnings are recorded and displayed in your Artist Dashboard.
- Payouts are sent manually by WAVjunkie instead of automatically through Stripe Connect.
- You should still connect Stripe to verify your identity and tax information.
What if my country becomes supported by Stripe Connect in the future?
If Stripe Connect adds support for your country after your WAVjunkie account is created, you’ll be able to complete Stripe Connect onboarding and begin receiving payouts at that point.
