What is a Crate?

A Crate is an artist-curated listening collection. Include any published WAVjunkie single, EP or album in full, or select individual tracks from releases by you or other artists. Crates are listening-only: there is no basket price, cart or checkout. They do not give recipients download ownership. Listener accounts cannot create Crates yet.

Create your collection

  1. Select your artist workspace if you manage more than one profile.
  2. Open Dashboard → Crates and choose the new-Crate option. You can also use the Crate creation option on your dashboard.
  3. Give it a title that is unique within your artist profile and add an optional description.
  4. Open Add music to search artist names, release titles or individual track names.
  5. Explore an artist or release, then use the add icon to include a whole release or a particular track.
  6. Reorder items with the up/down arrows or drag and drop. This sets their listening order.
  7. Finish adding music with Done to close that sheet. Changes are saved as you work; arrange the collection on the Crate editing page.
Add music opens in a full-screen, scrollable sheet. Back returns one level at a time rather than restarting your search.

Artwork and attribution

Upload an optional Share image. Without one, the first included release’s artwork is used. The shared page shows your title, description, artwork and Curated by attribution linking to your artist profile; music retains its original artist attribution.

Privacy and sharing

  • Keep Sharing off while preparing a private collection.
  • Switch it on and copy the link when ready. Anyone with that link can open the shared collection.
  • Crates do not appear in WAVjunkie’s public browsing, Discover, search or artist catalogues, and their pages tell search engines not to index them.
  • Turn sharing off at any time to remove access through the link.
  • Turning sharing on again restores the same URL. Editing the title does not change it.
  • URLs normalize accented characters into standard Latin letters.
Shared links include a title, description and artwork for social previews. Social services may cache an older preview, and switching sharing off cannot erase copies or previews already saved elsewhere.
