# Purchasing Music

## Before you buy

### Preview tracks

Always preview tracks before purchasing:

1. Click the **Play** button on any release card
2. Listen to the preview — guests get 1 free full listen per track; logged-in listeners get 3 free listens
3. Decide if it's the right fit for you

<Warning>All sales are final due to the digital nature of downloads.</Warning>

### Check release details

On the release page, you can see the track listing, genre & mood tags, release type (Single, EP, Album), and price (USD).

## Making a purchase

### Step 1: Add to cart

Click **Add to Cart** on the release you want, then continue browsing or proceed to checkout.

### Step 2: Review your cart

1. Click the **Cart** icon in the navigation
2. Review all items in your cart
3. Remove any unwanted items
4. Check the total price

### Step 3: Checkout

1. Click **Checkout** to proceed
2. You'll be redirected to our secure Stripe payment page
3. Enter your card details
4. Complete the payment

<Note>If you leave the Stripe payment page without completing your purchase, the checkout session will automatically expire after 30 minutes. You can then start a new checkout without any issues.</Note>

### Step 4: Confirmation

After successful payment, you'll be redirected back to your dashboard. Your payment is verified automatically — you'll see a "Finalizing your purchase" message, then a success notification. Your purchases will appear in your **Downloads** section and an email receipt will be sent.

<Note>The system prevents duplicate purchases — if you already own a release, it cannot be added to your cart again.</Note>

## What you receive

### About WAV files

WAV (Waveform Audio File) is an uncompressed audio format:

* **Lossless quality** — No audio data is lost
* **Studio-grade** — The exact quality artists create
* **Large files** — Typically 30–50MB per track

## Accessing your purchases

### Downloads section

1. Click your **profile icon** in the navigation
2. Find **Downloads** at the bottom of your dashboard
3. All your purchases are listed here

### Download your tracks

For each purchased release, click **Download** next to any track and the WAV file saves to your device.

### Re-downloading

Downloads are unlimited — your purchases are permanent and accessible from any device by logging into your account.

## Payment information

### Accepted payment methods

We accept all major cards through Stripe: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and more.

### Payment security

Your payment is protected by Stripe (industry-leading payment processor), PCI compliance (card data is never stored on our servers), and encryption on all transactions.

### Pricing

* All prices are in **USD (US Dollars)**
* Minimum release price: **\$1.00**
* Prices are set by individual artists

## After your purchase

### Where do artists get paid?

When you purchase music, **80%** goes to the artist and **20%** is the platform fee. Artists receive their earnings after a 7-day holding period.

By purchasing on WAVjunkie, you're directly supporting independent artists, getting high-quality uncompressed audio, and building your personal music library.

## Troubleshooting

### Payment failed

1. Check your card details are correct
2. Ensure sufficient funds are available
3. Try a different payment card
4. Contact your bank if issues persist

### Purchase not showing in Downloads

1. Wait a few moments — purchases are verified automatically after payment
2. Refresh the page
3. Check your email for a purchase confirmation
4. Log out and log back in
5. Contact support if the issue continues

### I accidentally tried to buy a release I already own

The platform automatically prevents duplicate purchases. If you already own a release, it will show as "Owned" and cannot be added to your cart.

### Download problems

1. Check your internet connection
2. Try a different browser
3. Ensure you have enough storage space
4. Clear your browser cache

## Refund policy

### All sales are final

Due to the digital nature of downloads, **all sales are final**. We strongly encourage you to preview all tracks before purchasing.

### Exceptions

In rare cases, we may consider refunds for duplicate purchases (same release bought twice), technical issues preventing download, or billing errors. Contact support promptly if you experience any of these.
